Manic Monday
Hello and happy Manic Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. It is hard to believe this is the start of the last week in May before Memorial Day Weekend. It is also the last week of school for my children. What!?! How did that happen? When (and where, I guess) I was growing up, summer vacation started in mid to late June and I still have trouble wrapping my head around no school at all in June. My children sure are happy though!
Here are the images that captivated me the most this past week!
The old black doors with frosted glass and antique brass hardware add charm for days to this entryway. Love, love.

More entryway charm. This stairway is magical. The ceiling height that rises only with the narrow set of stairs creates great anticipation for what awaits you at the top. I want to know! Don't you? It must be great.
My older brother and his wife lived in an awesome apartment in Manhattan Beach, California when they were first married and it was filled with all white slipcovered furniture. Ever since my first envy filled visit to their abode I have had a true affinity for rooms with wall to wall white slipcovered furniture and these next two rooms certainly fit the bill.

I am more and more drawn lately to rooms painted a subtle color with a darker shade used for the trim/millwork. As such, I really like the color combination in this space and the large windows wonderfully showcase the beauty of the darker trim.

A couple of details that my heart beats for...
This fireplace screen is GORGEOUS. So is everything else in this room from the mirror over the fireplace to the antique chest, to the vintage leather chair (which I have Furniture Fever for), to the curtains. This is an all around beautiful room.
The fabric on this chair is amazing. I would use it on a sofa, ottoman, dining chairs, for curtains, anywhere! Love, love, love.
Beauty makes Mondays more manageable, don't you agree? I will be back tomorrow with an Inspiration For My Renovation post. See you there!
Enjoy the day,
Kerry
