Hi, I’m Kerry, a lifetime lover of design.  I have been sketching “guess floor plans” for houses that I love from the outside and adding notes on paint colors, fabrics, and furniture placement so that I can imagine living in them for as long as I can remember. Deep within me, I have always valued the importance of home in life.

I believe when you come home you should feel like you are being hugged by your surroundings.  When you invite someone into your home, he/she/they should feel welcome and immediately at ease.  A house does not need to be fancy or trendy, rather your house becomes a home when it as an extension of you.

I would describe my design style as eclectic.  I utilize antiques, flea market finds, abstract art, bargain pieces, patterned fabrics and a whole bunch of blue and white.  My underlying philosophy is if it “speaks to me, I have to have it” (within reason) and then I find a place to put it and am happy every time I see it.  I’m sentimental about furniture and art and try to reuse existing pieces, even if it’s in a completely different way.

My entire life I have wanted to be a designer and at the same time thought it would be much more sensible to do something else, something less subjective.  I am in the process of renovating my sixth house in Columbus, Ohio.  I am a self-taught designer and decorator.  I have been through major renovations, minor renovations, a completely new build and a whole lot of decorating.  I have been helping friends and family with their projects for years and now I have started a business to help and serve people looking for design help.

Thank you for being here.  I hope we connect!

Kerry
