Feature Fever
Hello! Today I am starting a new monthly series on the blog called "Feature Fever". Similar to "Furniture Fever", it will focus on one feature (in place of furniture) that I would love to incorporate in design - aka obsessing over. Lately my dream of a fireplace in the kitchen has been "reignited" lol. When I was in middle school, the house we lived in in West Hartford, Connecticut had a fireplace in it and I loved it and having one has been on my feature wish list ever since. It was a focal point and added great warmth to the room literally and figuratively. There is something extremely relaxing about dining by a fireplace. Is a table by the fireplace in a restaurant not always the most sought after?!
I have seven images today that are responsible for adding fuel to my fever ;-).
I love a taller fireplace in the kitchen so everyone in the room has a view of the fire.

I also love the look and practicality of having wood storage below the fireplace.

This is actually a much newer home that gets a lot of soul from this kitchen fireplace.

This fireplace looks very well used and loved - as it should be. Charming.

I love the way the sink is on the fireplace side of this kitchen so that people sitting at the island have a view to the fire. I am also coveting these floors.
This fireplace is actually in a converted RV! So cool (and hot lol).

I love the evidence on the wall that this fireplace gets a lot of use - as it should!

I will be dreaming of sitting by a fire in the kitchen all day, especially since the temperatures are forecast to plummet here in Ohio over the next few days. I hope you stay warm and cozy. I will be back tomorrow with January's edition of Wallpaper Love. See you there.
Thank you for reading today,
Kerry
