Mini Post: Inspiration For My Renovation

Hello! The majority of my focus and free time has been spent on the front portico lately. This is how it is looking as of today:

John and I have attached the ledger board to the house, hung and secured the rafters, and added the front fascia board. There is still a fair amount to do before the metal roof is installed. We are planning to spend a large portion of this coming weekend working on it so by next week it should look much closer to completion. Fingers crossed.

I have saved a few ideas for the interior though that I wanted to share with you today.

As the days go by, I am more and more drawn to bookshelves with simple lines and these are giving me some food for thought for the library for sure! I think these are quite attractive. This may mean the Benjamin Moore Brewster Gray goes away and the library turns white. Definitely have to think about that!

I also am loving the look of the board and batten siding in this bathroom. This has me thinking about the upstairs hall bathroom. The plan is currently to have penny round tile as the backsplash for the sink wall and paneling on the remainder of the walls. Maybe the paneling moves to all of the walls????

The last thing on my radar is my own home office. I want to carve one out for myself using a storage room in the basement. My current workspace is in the kitchen/dining room/great room and it is not ideal. That point is hammered home every day of summer of vacation - it is very easy to interrupt mom/Kerry since she's sitting (basically) in the kitchen. The office that you see through this sitting room is giving me major inspiration and envy! I cannot have the window, I should be able to have shelves and cabinetry though - that would be heaven!

This is the end of today's mini post. Have a great day!

Thank you for stopping by today,

Kerry
