Mini Post: Curtain Size
Hello. I am here today with my general "rules" for curtain sizing.
Drapes should be as full as possible
They should be hung close to the ceiling, or at the ceiling, depending on ceiling and window height. If the ceiling is significantly higher than the top of the window, hang the curtain rod six to eight inches above the window trim
They should appear full and actually be full enough so that the fabric completely covers the window with room to spare when the drapes are closed
They should be hung so that the edges of the fabric (the sides that meet when the curtains are closed) are (as close as possible to) in line with the outside edges of the window so that the window is fully visible when the curtains are open
They should be long enough so that they puddle slightly on the floor when hung - the fabric should be about an inch longer than necessary to just hit the floor.
