Library Love

Happy Friday! As I have mentioned before, I love a home library of any kind - from a full on library with wall to wall shelves down to a small stuffed bookshelf where ever it will fit. There is both charm and possibility found in a bookshelf or bookshelves. A library, no matter how small or large has the ability to offer an adventure with its books and tell a story with its styling.

I have nineteen libraries (twenty pictures) to share today so I have broken them down into categories.

THE TRADITIONALIST

This library is designed by Natasha Habermann. The books are color coordinated (which I am sure took some effort!), the single sconce adds character and I love the poster that is propped up on the left.

This library looks like it means business - head on the platter and all that lol. I really like the brass lights above the bookshelves and the glass display cabinets in the center of the shelves - that's fancy! It is in the home of Naeda of House on Willow Hill in the Washingon D.C. area is designed by Lauren Liess.

The next two images are from the same room. The colors and items on the shelves have so much personality. Design by Creative Tonic.

Another colorful library with personality. I am starting to become a real fan of bookshelves painted a separate color from the room. Design by Sarah Winchester.

SIGHTLINES!

Walking in the front door and seeing this library is a very warm welcome indeed!

This sightline from the library to the kitchen is a beauty. I particularly love the thickness of the walls in the passage between the two rooms being painted completely in the same color as the library, it makes the space feel so substantial. Design by Sheer & Co Interior Design.

STACKS BEHIND SOFAS!

This is a cozy little library. I love that there are stacks of books in front of the TV. A subtle reminder that reading comes before television in a library. Design by Dana Small.

Simply charming. This is from the John Derian Company.

This library amazes me because all of the books are the same height! I didn't know that was even possible! Design by Jeffrey Bilhuber.

LIBRARY, YOU SAY? YES, I SAY!

A charming makeshift library (designer unknown).

These next two rooms are large, airy, expansive, beautiful, and have a library component to them. High ceilings make spaces instantly more special in my opinion.

source, this is from the home of Hubert de Givenchy, Manoir du Jonchet

READING TABLES

I love when a library includes a work table. This room designed by Tammy Connor is so peaceful.

This library designed by Katie Ridder is full of energy!

I wish this library designed by Betsy Brown was in my house. I love the table, the fabric on the chairs, the artwork and the fireplace balls - those are so cool, aren't they?

DINE ON THIS!

Ah, library dining rooms, delicious!

Always a fan of mismatched chairs too and this light fixture, spot on!

GOOD CLEAN FUN

Libraries can fit in anywhere!

HAPPY ENDING

Both a library and a Circle Room - what more could I ask for!?!

That is the end of this library love fest. I am sure I will have plenty more to share in no time. Happy weekend and I will see you back here for Manic Monday.

Thank you for joining me today,
