Inspiration for my Renovation
Happy Tuesday! I hope you are well today. I have a very short post today to share the five images and ideas I saved for inspiration on my own renovation from last week.
I am planning to replace the handrail, balusters, and newel post on my stairs so I am always on the lookout for stair ideas. This one from the home of Julia and Chris Marcum is really pretty. I also want herringbone floors in my entry so this image gives double the inspiration!
I am always toying with the idea of painting all the interior doors in my house black so I tend to save a lot of images for analysis and for future inspiration like this one from Lauren Liess. The doorknobs on these doors are charming too and I love the artwork. Lauren's little guy is the cutest part though!
During my recent meeting with our builder we talked about wiring specifically for picture lighting in a number of areas and later that day I saw this exterior copper deck light that I thought would make such a cool picture light or perhaps several of them as the lighting above the bookshelves in the library. Unique and unexpected - my favorite combination!
After my recent On Trend Tuesday post about kitchen island lighting I have really been considering having no pendant lights over the island. I saved this picture, another Lauren Liess design, as inspiration. I am a huge fan of the lights between beams too. I planned to do something similar with beams and lighting in the kitchen of my Holland house before we found out we would be moving again and not actually living in it (for long).
I saved this final image of a charming G. P. Schafer designed house for inspiration on horizontal railings. There is two spots where it is used - one, on the Juliette balcony in the center and two, on the deck to the far right. The exterior hard and soft scape work is about to begin at my house and I have planned to have horizontal boards for the deck and side entry. I have been saving images for inspiration for the horizontal board widths and the vertical spacing.
The gutter installers are due at my house today so hopefully I will be able to post an update on my house tomorrow, no matter what, I will be back tomorrow. See you here!
Thanks for stopping by today,
Kerry
