On Trend Tuesday

Hello. I am back after a Manic Monday yesterday to talk about a design element that looks to be turning into a trend. The very first installment of On Trend Tuesday was about narrow storage in the kitchen and today's trend was also spotted in the kitchen. I am going to call it "pretty little accessory rods".
These accessory rods are delicate and sweet. They can replace or supplement traditional kitchen storage by providing an easy to access location for hanging utensils and accessories. They elevate the "pot rack" from utilitarian to charming. The rods, which range from brass to iron to wood, can be expansive or snuck in to a small spot. These beautiful examples of "pretty little accessory rods" are what have me thinking they are On Trend this Tuesday.
A brass rod over the sink for a dish towel and accessories - sweet and simple:

A brass rod across the window for pots and accessories - gorgeous.

Iron rods under open shelving for pots and accessories - a more modern take:

A very thin brass rod under the bottom shelf for accessories - utterly charming:

Multiple iron rods for accessories and a dish towel. This entire wall is so attractive:

A brass rod under the beam for pots and accessories - genius and gorgeous:

A wood rod under the shelf styled with candles. This is perfection:

Two shots from the same kitchen with rods under narrow shelving for accessory storage, so pretty:

And the last one, a traditional pot rack elevated - I love how the rod goes all the way to the window:

This trend has given me something to think about. "Pretty little accessory rods" could easily find a place in a bathroom or laundry room as well. I will be scheming about incorporating these sweet rods in designs and I hope this trend inspires you too!
I will be back Thursday with another installment of Library Love. See you then.
Thank you for stopping by today,
Kerry
