Spot On Tuesday
Hi there! This week I have my spot (light) on double upper kitchen cabinets. The preferred style for years was to take a single upper kitchen cabinet or row of cabinets all the way up the ceiling or even to stop them before reaching the ceiling and top them with crown molding. I am noticing now that more and more kitchens are incorporating double uppers even if the ceiling in the room is not particularly tall.
I am a fan of the look. It is an opportunity to enhance the appeal of your kitchen - you can use different cabinet faces on the two rows, you can add intricate millwork at the top or you can make it a totally clean line at the ceiling, and you could even have open cabinet "cubbies" on top or bottom.
What do you think? Have you noticed this? Do you like it? Would you incorporate double uppers? Would you use the same cabinet face or change it up? A lot to think about!
Here are some examples to help you decide....

Happy Tuesday.
